Welcome to AttendMate. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the AttendMate mobile application ("App"). By installing or using the App, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms.

1. Description of Service

AttendMate is a local-first helper application designed to track class attendance, calculate bunk allowances, monitor classroom geofences for attendance verification, import and export historical attendance datasets, synchronize timetables with Google Calendar and Device Calendars, and maintain optional cloud backups via Google Drive.

2. Location Services & Geofencing

The App offers optional location-based features (such as geofence attendance verification and proximity reminders):

• User Authorization: Location features function only when you grant appropriate device location permissions.
• Accuracy Disclaimer: Geofencing accuracy depends on your device hardware, GPS signal, network conditions, and operating system energy optimizations. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free location tracking.
• Local Processing: All location data is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to external servers.

3. Use of Third-Party Services (Google Calendar & Google Drive Cloud Backup)

By using Google Calendar synchronization or Google Drive cloud backup, you authorize the App to interact with your Google Account on your behalf. You acknowledge that:

• Your use of Google Services is subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google Account and device.
• The App only creates or modifies calendar events based on your configured timetable and settings.
• When Google Drive backup is enabled, the App uploads your attendance and settings data directly to your personal Google Drive storage. We do not host or store your backups on proprietary servers. We are not responsible for any accidental changes, schedule conflicts, or data loss occurring on external services.

4. Local Data Storage & User Responsibility

Because AttendMate operates on a local-first architecture:

• All attendance records, timetable schedules, semester settings, and location coordinates are stored directly in your device's local database.
• You can create local filesystem backups and restore previous attendance records anytime via the Semester Backup features.
• Clearing app data or uninstalling the App without a local or cloud backup will permanently erase your data.

5. Disclaimer of Warranty & Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. In no event shall the developer be liable for any claims, attendance discrepancies, academic consequences, lost data, or damages arising from your use or inability to use the App.

6. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be published within the App. Your continued use of the App following any updates indicates your acceptance of the revised Terms.
